Today's Devotion, Lord, open our eyes so that we are led by the spirit. In order for us to change our life, we must change the way in how we live it. And if we want to be influential in changing the lives of others, we must share testimonies that has contributed to us in changing it. A speaker of the truth has no friends, and those who want to experience the best of both worlds will never be committed to God.
Two people can damage a society, the one who knows and doesn't talk, and the one who doesn't know and talks. We fear the lion not because of what we hear but because of what we see. If we want to change the lives of others, we cannot keep God's words to ourselves.
We must be prepared to share them with others. You can't expect to be delivered from your sin without transformation. Walking away from sin is the first step towards spiritual transformation because if you keep going back into it, it may be very difficult to get out of it.
Don't go back to something that God has already rescued you from because this is an opportunity for the devil to send demons into your lives. If you feed your flesh what it wants, it will not upset your stomach. It will destroy your life.
Your flesh does not care where you spend eternity because it's not going there with you. In Galatians 6 verse 3 it is written, Whoever sows to please their flesh from the flesh reaps destruction. Whoever sows to please their spirit from the spirit will reap eternal life.
My brothers and sisters in Christ, watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. In Galatians 5 verse 17 it is written, For the flesh desires what is contrary to the spirit, and the spirit what is contrary to the flesh.
They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. Heavenly Father, give us the strength not to yield to temptation because the devil will use our weakness to distract us. Lord, many times we allow our minds to pull us back in sin all because we are focused on the wrong things.
Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the spirit gives birth to the spirit, and those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please you. Many times if it wasn't for your intervention we would have lost our way. Grant us the wisdom to recognize the snares of temptation and the courage to flee from them.
O Lord, align our heart with your will so that our desires may reflect your desires in our life. Let your words be a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. Thank you Lord for helping us to control the flesh while we feed the spirit.
All these we ask in Jesus name, Amen.
