When God has called you, do not avoid him

Today's Devotion, When God has called you, do not avoid him. Many people believe in God, but not everyone obeys him. Those who believe in God must be prepared to abide by his word, and they must also know his word.

In Psalm 15 it is written, Lord, who may dwell in your sacred tent? Who may live on your holy mountain? The one whose walk is blameless, who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from their heart, whose tongue utters no slander, who does no wrong to a neighbor and casts no slur on others, who despises a vile person but honors those who fear the Lord, who keeps an oath even when it hurts and does not change their mind, who lends money to the poor without interest, who does not accept bribe against the innocent, whoever does these things will never be shaken. My brothers and sisters in Christ, if we are not living by all of these words, we need to fix the weak areas in our lives. Heavenly Father, In John 15 verse 5 it is written, I am the vine, you are the branches.

If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit. Apart from me you can do nothing. Lord, help us to not only know your words but also to live by them.

We should never underestimate what the Lord may call us to do, if we are going to stay rooted in him. We must listen, obey and follow him. Remaining in Jesus will bring many benefits including answered prayer.

Lord, remove every weak structure in our heart, pride, fear, impatience, unbelief and replace them with faith, love, humility and endurance. Thank you Lord for the work you are doing in me and those who are doing their best to live by your commands. Thank you that the one who began a good work in me will carry it on to completion.

I trust you to continue building me into the person you have called me to be.

All these we ask in Jesus name, Amen.
