Today's devotion, Beware of Ignorance. When your consequences pile up, your unhappiness increases. When your disobedience is more than your obedience, you will have more problems, more setbacks, and more worries. He who stands with God will be protected by God, and he who stands against God is in for a rude awakening.
Out of hatred for the cockroach, the ants voted for the insecticide, and they all died, including the housefly that didn't even vote. When your anger is influenced by your ignorance, innocent people can be affected. Sin has a way of letting wrong seems right.
And there are times we allow our anger, even though we are right, to influence us to do the wrong things, all because of our ignorance. Ignorance to the law is no excuse, and committing sin because of your ignorance will not change the consequences that comes with it. No amount of evidence can change the mind of a fool, and no amount of facts can redirect the mind of someone who is not willing to learn because of their ignorance.
The ignorant are ignorant of their ignorance, and a false prophet holding a Bible can mislead people who are ignorant of God's words. In 1 Peter, verse 13 to 16, it is written, Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at His coming. As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance.
But just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do. For it is written, Be holy because I am holy. My brothers and sisters in Christ, be holy in all you do, and we must obey all God's commandments.
Heavenly Father, in Hosea 4, verse 6, it is written, My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge, because though hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me. Seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. Lord, it is ignorance that makes us walk in the wrong way and end up being misled by the wrong people.
It is ignorance that keeps us weary from praying. It is ignorance that pulls us closer to the world and further from you. Spirit of ignorance, I command you by fire to get out of me right now in Jesus' name.
Lord, remove the wolves in sheep clothing that are doing evil, and let us believe that it is good. Lord, thank you for opening our spiritual eyes so that we can know wrong from right, all because of our ignorance.
All these we ask in Jesus' name, Amen.
